Baby Swings

Baby swings are one of the things that a baby really likes them or they don't. Luke really liked his swing before he was a month old. He had a hand me down swing from Levi, but usually you expect swings to last a while. I guess with Luke it ended a little different. He used the swing until he was about 2 or 3 months old, and then the motor went out. I thought we didn't want the big expense of paying for another when he was going to be our last baby. I sent out an e-mail to my friends hoping I could just borrow a swing for a couple of months until he didn't want to use the swing anymore. Well, we ended up borrowing the same brand and type of swing that Luke had before. I thought he would really love it because it was the same kind he had gotten used to. Well, it was no match for Luke. The swing lasted for only about a month, and then the motor went out on it too. Then Luke was without a swing again. There was another friend of mine who wanted to just get rid of their swing. I felt better about that because of Luke's track record. This swing was an older model, and about 8 years old. It worked great, and he liked it, but not as much as the other swings. But I thought he would probably get over it. The third swing lasted a little longer than the past two. It's motor kept running for about three months. It too slowly died on us, and now every night Luke does not go to sleep very well until we manually push him in the swing that has the motor out. I keep thinking he can't want to keep going the swing forever. But who is smarter? The baby who whines until he is put in the swing? or the parent who manually pushes the swing without a working motor?

Trip to the Grocery Store
Luke trying to figure out what was going on. He has had very little stroller rides with how cold it has been. It wasn't too bad outside, so we all went for a walk down to the grocery store just a couple of blocks away. This was the quietest he has been all day while he was awake. But he wanted to know what was going on. He did not go to sleep until we were almost home.

Back to School

Back to School
It's nice to have school back in session! This is Landon's first day riding the bus! He goes to a second preschool to help with his speech. They meet once a week for two hours. Landon likes that they meet at the same school that Lydia attends (there are five elementary schools in our district). Lydia was very excited to start school back too.

Cowboy and Cowgirl
Landon enjoys playing cowboy and loves his new guitar from his 5th birthday and his gun and holster set from Christmas, thanks Kyle!

Forget the carrot on the snowman's nose, I need a snack!

Great Grandpa Baker, Luke, Landon, Lydia, Levi, Dan We visited him while in Spokane after Wendy and Tim's wedding. It was nice to see him and Grandma Helen again. Of course the kids love to see their dog too. Luke sat on Great Grandpa Baker's lap for a long time too, almost the whole visit. Then Aunt Holly was very happy to take him!

Cookies for Santa

Cookies for Santa
One of the kids favorite Christmas traditions, making cookies for Santa! Landon's was the cookie with the most candy on it. Levi just likes a little bit of frosting, and Lydia decorated the face on the gingerbread man.

Christmas Eve Gifts

Christmas Eve Gifts
It's a tradition to open our exchange gifts from the cousin's on Christmas Eve. Luke had more fun with the tissue paper than the gift! Good job Katrina!

Lydia received a gift from her 2nd cousin, Aiden

Levi was excited to have two wrapped gifts, thanks Uncle Jeff

Landon was more than ready to open his gift from his cousin Kyle.
